As I said countless times before I do believe in Altruism. Furthermore I believe we should do things not because we want repayment, but because it's the right thing to do. Here's a story from the "Making a Difference" feature that usually airs every Friday on NBC Nightly News.

Dear Hearts - When I was a little girl my grandmother and I would spend hours watching Classic - Vintage movies. The fun part is, she shared little tidbits, anecdotes about the movie stars and the films that made watching extra fun. I guess that's why I love to watch classic movies to this day. One film that is definitely on my must watch list would be the 1938 film - the Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn and Olivia De Havilland.
Synopsis: "Welcome to Sherwood Forest!" Errol Flynn ("Gentleman Jim," "Captain Blood") stars as the famed bandit king of Sherwood Forest who romances Maid Marian and leads in a battle against poverty and corruption.
Now I'm familiar with the remakes of this film but the 1938 film classic remains my favorite. This film like so many classic movies is full of magic - adventure, and enchantment. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Errol Flynn and Olivia De Havilland are the stars of the movie. Those two bright stars got to work together in other films as well. Like the film Captain Blood which is one of my all time favorites. Perhaps some people would find a film like Captain Blood boring because it lacks the brutal realism - sophisticated razzle dazzle and special effects that films have today but I love it. For example the empty walls are used as a canvas on which to project the shadow of character Peter Blood. Actually, the artful black-and-white cinematography made me fall in love with this movie. Without a doubt, this film is colorful (even though it was filmed in black and white).

The rogue hero, an Irish-born physician wrongly convicted of treason is sentenced to a life of slavery in Jamaica. He charms his new master's niece (qu'elle est belle, belle comme une fleur de feu - great actress Olivia De Havilland, Maid Marian-to-be) and plans an escape with his rebel comrades.
As the fates would have it, the movie Captain Blood is best remembered as the film that launched (26 year old) Errol Flynn's career to worldwide stardom. In the film, the real fun begins with a "timely interruption" when Errol Flynn & Olivia De Havilland meet for the first time. The chemistry between Flynn and lovely Olivia De Havilland is simply delicious. Flynn's naturalness is stunning. His charm - humor - athleticism and joie de vivre makes you want more. The supporting cast is the icing on the cake and this swashbuckler blueprint epic Captain Blood about forbidden love, revenge and retribution deserves its place as one of the best vintage classic adventures ever made. Wait!! I just love - love -love the ending. (big smile)
